Air Canada has signed an agreement with Porsche to supply cars for its chauffeur service at Toronto Pearson airport.
The fleet will initially include three electric or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, including the Porsche Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne, which will scale up to six in the future.
The luxury service resumed on April 21 and is offered to select international Signature Class (business class) customers connecting to Asia, Europe and South America. This comes after last month’s reopening of the carrier’s Signature Suite lounge in Toronto.
Customers arriving from within Canada will be met by a concierge and driven to the carrier’s lounge in a Porsche vehicle.
The airline is set to roll out the service at Vancouver International airport “later in 2022”, following the reopening of its signature suite at the airport this spring.
The initiative aims to support Air Canada’s commitment to reach a goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions throughout its global operations by 2050.
