Accor to debut Fairmont brand in Japan – Business Traveller

Accor plans to bring its Fairmont brand to Japan’s capital in 2025.

Fairmont Tokyo will occupy the upper floors of the south tower of the Shibaura Project, belonging to a development designed under the National Strategic Special Zone Program. The project will consist of two towers, with the south tower expected to open in 2024 followed by the north tower in 2030.

The hotel will include 219 rooms with views of Tokyo Bay, three restaurants and bars, a spa, fitness centre and swimming pool. Additionally there will be meeting rooms, banquet facilities and a chapel.

Fairmont Tokyo will be located an 18-minute drive from Haneda International airport, and within close proximity to Hamamatsucho Railway Station.

Garth Simmons, CEO Accor Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea, commented:

“We are excited to welcome Fairmont Tokyo into our portfolio of grand hotels, providing a stunning backdrop where glamour meets culture, and where guests and locals will come together to make memories.

“Like all Fairmont properties around the world, the hotel is set to become the epicenter of Tokyo’s social scene and will bring a new level of personalised service and thoughtful luxury to the city.”

The hotel group has partnered with Nomura Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. to launch its luxury brand in Japan.

The Fairmont brand currently counts 80 hotels across the world, including the opening of the Fairmont Windsor Park at the start of this year.
