Anantara Hotels, Resorts and Spas has announced plans for its second hotel in Portugal, to be housed with a 15th century former monastery.
Anantara Royal Vila Vicosa will be located in the country’s Alentejo region, around 200km east of Lisbon, close to the border with Spain.
The property is scheduled to open in 2024, and will feature 50 guest rooms, ten suites and 16 residences, as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa, three conference rooms and “multiple dining options” including a restaurant and bar, private fine dining area and a wine cellar.
