Emirates to introduce A380 on Dubai-Bengaluru route – Business Traveller

Emirates has said that it will start deploying its flagship A380 on its Dubai-Bengaluru route for the first time beginning October 30.

The airline will become the first carrier to operate an A380 service to Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International airport.

The daily A380 flights will operate as EK568/569 with an aircraft in a three-class configuration, offering seats in economy class, in addition to premium cabins, in business class and first class. EK568 will depart daily from Dubai at 9.25pm and land in Bengaluru at 2.30am the following day. EK569 will leave from Bengaluru at 4.30am and land in Dubai at 7.10am.

The deployment of the double-decker A380 aircraft will complement its existing services, EK564/565 and EK566/567, each also operating on a daily basis with the airline’s wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft. Flights EK564/565 will operate using a mix of Boeing 777-200LR and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft while EK566/567 will offer seats in first class, business class and economy class aboard a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Bengaluru will be only the second city in India to be served by Emirates’ A380 aircraft – the airline began operating an A380 to Mumbai in 2014. Emirates started operations to India in 1985 with its scheduled services to Mumbai and Delhi and has been flying to Bengaluru since 2006. The airline at present provides access to nine points in India.

Emirates says that it has been deploying its flagship A380 aircraft to an expanded list of destinations worldwide “to meet high customer demand on routes popular amongst global travellers.” The A380 helps boost capacity on a single flight by up to 45 percent compared to a Boeing 777 aircraft.

As of this month, the Emirates A380 aircraft  flies to over 30 airports across six continents , with a total of over 130 destinations in the airline’s global network.
