Finnair completes €200 million cabin upgrade on long-haul fleet – Business Traveller

Finnair has completed its €200 million cabin refresh across its long-haul fleet of A350 and A330 aircraft.

The two-year investment programme saw the refurbishment of eight A330 and 17 A350 aircraft to include the carrier’s new business class seat, the new premium economy cabin plus a revamped economy class.

The flag carrier launched its innovative new business class seat in collaboration with Collins Aerospace in early 2022, alongside the airline’s first premium economy cabin.

Business Traveller has twice reviewed Finnair’s new business class seat – first on an A330 short-haul service between London and Helsinki, and subsequently on an A350 long-haul flight between Helsinki and Singapore.

Meanwhile, Finnair is set to overhaul its short-haul Embraer fleet “in the coming months”, and will also open a new larger lounge at the Schengen area of Helsinki Airport for business class customers and Finnair Plus tier members (all Finnair customers can gain access for a fee).

Ole Orvér, chief commercial officer of Finnair, commented:

“After just two years, it is fantastic to have completed the rollout of our new award-winning long-haul cabin.

“Since its launch in 2022, customer feedback on our revolutionary Business Class seat and brand-new Premium Economy cabin has been excellent, so we are proud to be able to offer the renewed cabin on flights to all our long-haul destinations.

“We also know our customers value consistency and reliability, so to offer a uniform cabin concept across our whole fleet is a huge step on our customer experience journey. Customer satisfaction with our long-haul cabins has increased significantly with the cabin renewal.”
