Hotel memorabilia include a leather motorcycle jacket owned and worn by Joey Ramone, a pair of silver patent leather boots worn by Lady Gaga, handwritten lyrics for John Lennon’s 1972 ode to his adopted home “New York City”, and custom outfits from Jay Z and Beyoncé.
Hard Rock currently has 27 hotels and nine hotel and casinos worldwide, including properties in Amsterdam and Dublin, both of which opened in 2020.
The brand debuted in London in 2019, within a 900-room property on the corner of Oxford Street and Park Lane near Marble Arch, which formerly operated as the Cumberland hotel.
Commenting on the New York opening Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International, said:
“New York City is one of the greatest cities in the world and we are honoured to open our doors to locals and travellers looking for a best in class hotel, dining, and entertainment experience.
“Hard Rock has had a presence for decades in the City, but this location will deliver an entirely new experience from the brand that’s been synonymous with music and entertainment for over 50 years.”
