Hilton to add earning and redemption benefits for “hundreds” of SLH properties – Business Traveller

Hilton has signed a new partnership with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), which will see selected properties become available to book through Hilton’s channels, as well as offering Hilton Honors members new earning and redemption opportunities.

SLH has had an agreement in place with Hyatt since 2018, but rival group Hilton says it has now signed “an exclusive strategic partnership” with the collection of independent luxury hotels.

SLH’s portfolio comprises 560 properties across 90 countries – it’s not clear how many of these will participate in the new Hilton partnership, other than it will be “hundreds”.

It’s also not yet clear when the new agreement will take effect (or indeed when the existing deal with Hyatt will end), nor what rates will be in place for points earning and redemption. Hilton says simply that “More details of this new relationship will be announced soon”.

For its part Hyatt signed an agreement last year to purchase London-based Mr and Mrs Smith for £53 million.

The platform launched in 2003 and currently offers direct booking access to a collection of over 1,500 boutique and luxury hotels worldwide, with more than one million members.

Commenting on the news Chris Silcock, Hilton president of brands and commercial services, said:

“Hilton guests are among the most sophisticated travellers in the world, and we are always looking for amazing new experiences to share with them.

“This relationship with Small Luxury Hotels of the World will grant Hilton customers and Hilton Honors members access to a community of high-end boutique hotels in exciting new luxury travel destinations, giving them more ways to dream, book, and earn and redeem points with Hilton.”
