Klook, a renowned travel platform, hosted its inaugural Klook Travel Fest at Carriageworks in Sydney on November 30, 2024. The event attracted over 10,000 attendees, offering exclusive travel discounts, exciting prizes, and interactive sessions with industry experts and social media influencers like Kat, Deja Clark, and Sofia Ligeros. Hosted by TV personality Faustina ‘Fuzzy’ Agolley, the festival marked Klook’s first offline consumer-focused event in Australia, blending elements of nostalgia, gamification, and travel inspiration.

A Gamified Travel Expo

Themed around 90s console games, Klook Travel Fest took a refreshing spin on the traditional travel expo format. Attendees navigated virtual, Minecraft-inspired worlds representing popular travel destinations. From the Hong Kong dumpling toss to alien-elimination challenges set in the Nevada desert, these immersive experiences brought travel dreams to life.

Participants competed in various games and challenges to win hundreds of prizes, including trips to Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia. Diana Vidovic, Director of Oceania Marketing at Klook, expressed her excitement:

“After months of planning with our destination partners, it was thrilling to see both adults and children enjoying everything from games to travel prizes. The response was overwhelming, with over 8,300 travel offers redeemed in the Klook app and more than 1,300 prizes distributed on the day.”

Exclusive Deals and Attractions

Travel enthusiasts capitalized on unbeatable offers across Klook’s platform while enjoying live entertainment and cultural showcases. Disneyland California Resort and Walt Disney World headlined the event, with additional support from notable partners such as:

  • Hong Kong Tourism Board
  • Korea Tourism Organisation
  • Los Angeles Tourism
  • Travel Nevada
  • Philippine Department of Tourism

Support also came from key brands like Air Asia, Jetstar, VietJet, and American Tourister, ensuring a dynamic and diverse experience.

A Nostalgic After-Dark Experience

The day culminated in an adults-only after-dark session featuring nostalgic DJ tracks, crafted cocktails, and gourmet food by Cultured Crust and Satay Brothers. This unique twist added an extra layer of entertainment for grown-up attendees.

Vision for the Future

The massive success of the Sydney event has solidified Klook’s plans to expand the Travel Fest concept. Vidovic teased that the next edition promises to be “even bigger and better,” building on the incredible momentum gained this year.

Klook Travel Fest highlighted the evolving nature of travel expos, showcasing how gamification and nostalgia can create meaningful engagement. With its innovative approach and a focus on fun, Klook has set a new benchmark for how travel companies can connect with their audience.
