London’s Wolseley pops up at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel – Business Traveller

Fans of The Wolseley will now get to experience the grand London café overseas, with the famed restaurant popping up in Bangkok.

The Wolseley Hospitality Group has launched Café Wolseley at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel’s Madison Restaurant for a period of three months.

This marks the group’s first international venture and the café will serve Wolseley classics along with contemporary additions in the Parichart Court of the restaurant.

The pop-up will combine “British heritage with European grandeur” and be led by Australian chef David Stevens, group executive chef at The Wolseley Hospitality Group and former head chef at The Wolseley in London

On the starters list, highlights include a seafood platter, featuring a selection of oysters and shellfish from Rungis Market in Paris; dressed Dorset crab; steak tartare; and escargots Bourguignonne, snails served in the shell with garlic and parsley butter, finished with Pernod.

There will be a number of Wolseley classics on the menu, including Wiener Holstein, pork schnitzel with a fried egg, anchovies and a lemon and caper butter; the soufflé Suisse, a twice-cooked cheese soufflé with mushroom and parmesan cream sauce and chives; and the restaurant’s Coq au Vin (red wine-braised chicken with pancetta, pearl onions and button mushrooms).

Desserts, meanwhile, will include classic apple strudel with calvados cream; mixed berry pavlova; and a crème brûlée.
