Mandarin Oriental Mayfair unveils uniform designs – Business Traveller

Mandarin Oriental Mayfair has unveiled the designs for its uniform, ahead of the hotel’s long-awaited opening.

The hotel, located on Hanover Square, was first due to open in 2022 but was postponed to spring 2024.

Mandarin Oriental has now unveiled sketches of the hotel uniforms, which have been designed by Nicholas Oakwell – creative director of NO Uniform.

The design combines classic British tailoring with nods to the hotel group’s Asian heritage. Uniforms have been locally manufactured with British suiting fabrics, with clothing featuring cherry blossom embroidery and a sleeve inspired by the kimono. Bartenders, meanwhile, will sport a bomber jacket styled shirt and jacket with dragon embroidery.
