Marriott’s first StudioRes extended stay property to open in Florida – Business Traveller

The hotel is scheduled to open in spring 2025, with Concord set to develop around 50 StudioRes properties “spanning several dozen submarkets in major US cities, with several more slated to break ground in the coming months”.

Full details of the Fort Myer hotel have yet to be confirmed, but the StudioRes prototype is for a 124-room property, with extended stay options including studio rooms with queen beds and kitchens, alongside public areas including a laundry room, fitness centre, vending and communal areas, and a covered patio.

Earlier this month rival hotel group Hilton confirmed that its new lower midscale extended stay brand will be known as LivSmart Studios by Hilton.

Hilton said that the brand had “received tremendous interest from owners and developers in just six months and currently boasts more than 350 deals in various stages of negotiation”.

Commenting on the news Marriott International’s global development officer, US and Canada, Noah Silverman, said:

“The groundbreaking of the first StudioRes hotel is a significant milestone for Marriott International, as we continue to work toward our goal of expanding offerings to meet the needs of guests for every stay purpose.

“Taking a new build brand from announcement in June to groundbreaking in January is thrilling, and we’re grateful for the longstanding relationship we have with Concord Hospitality and Whitman Peterson to bring the StudioRes vision to life.”
