Wyndham announces 2022 openings – Business Traveller

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has announced its growth plans for this year across the EMEA region.

This month will see the group enter Poland with the upscale 205-room Wyndham Wroclaw Old Town, which we reported on here.

Wyndham will also open its first Tryp hotel in Greece with a property in Corfu next month. Tryp by Wyndham Corfu Dassia will be a conversion and rebranding of the Corfu Palma Boutique hotel and feature 48 rooms, contemporary interiors and lush gardens.

The group will also expand its budget Super 8 brand in Germany, opening its tenth hotel under the brand in Koblenz in June.

There will also be a raft of additions under Wyndham’s Ramada, Ramada Encore and Days Inn brands in Turkey in locations such as Istanbul, Rize and Elbistan.

Wyndham’s namesake brand, meanwhile, will debut in Cyprus with the upscale Wyndham Nicosia in the capital’s main square, complete with leisure amenities and conference space.

The group has also confirmed that it will continue to expand its portfolio in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia, with the new-build Grigoleti Beach Resort representing the first hotel under the Trademark brand in the market.

Meanwhile in the Middle East, Wyndham will open the 278-room Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach in Qatar, along with two more openings in Saudi Arabia.

India will see the opening of Ramada by Wyndham Gangtok Hotel and Golden Casino in Gangtok City, featuring views of the Himalayan range, and the 300-room Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Mumbai Sahar, which will include direct accessibility to the second busiest airport in the country. The group has a development pipeline of approximately 30 hotels in the Indian subcontinent, with eight expected to open in 2022 alone.

Dimitris Manikis, president EMEA, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, said:

“We are proud to look back on what Wyndham has achieved across EMEA, despite the on-going challenges and disruption in the travel industry. We focused on strengthening our fruitful partnerships, adding more exciting destinations, and broadening the reach of our brands. We are delighted to offer even more exciting hotels for our guests and look forward to working with our partners and teams across EMEA in 2022 and beyond.”
