Aer Lingus resumes flights to San Francisco – Business Traveller

Aer Lingus is resuming its connections to San Francisco from the UK, with flights from eight airports via Dublin.

From today the IAG carrier will operate flights four times per week from Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London Heathrow and Gatwick to the ‘Golden City’ via Dublin.

The airline will increase this to a daily service from March 27, with economy fares starting from £249 each way as part of a return trip. Business class fares start from £1,299 return.

Daily connections from Bristol and Leeds to San Francisco via Dublin will follow from April 15.

Travellers will benefit from US Customs and Immigration pre-clearance at Dublin, allowing them to avoid lengthy immigration queues upon arrival in the US.

Bill Byrne, Aer Lingus executive vice-president US, said:

“We are delighted to resume our Dublin to San Francisco service, connecting people from Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London daily to West Coast USA from as little as £249 each way.

“With the convenience of US Customs and Immigration pre-clearance at Dublin, time spent connecting through Dublin provides customers with a speedier journey overall, as they arrive in the US as a domestic passenger.

“As always, customers can expect a warm Aer Lingus welcome on board, and enjoy complimentary meals, drinks and Wi-Fi onboard, as well as top inflight entertainment, including the latest movie releases, TV boxsets, games and music.”

UK customers can currently fly on 12 transatlantic routes via Dublin, including New York JFK, Newark, Miami, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orlando, Washington, Seattle, Toronto and Philadelphia.

The airline also announced that daily flights to Los Angeles will resume on May 12, while flights to Seattle will return five times a week from May 26. Earlier this month Aer Lingus also confirmed plans to resume flights between Dublin and Miami in October.

Last year the airline also launched nonstop routes from Manchester to New York JFK, Orlando and Barbados.
