Aeromexico to expand European operations in 2024 – Business Traveller

Aeromexico has announced plans to ramp up its operations to Europe next year, marking the carrier’s highest connectivity between Mexico and Europe in history.

The airline is adding six weekly frequencies to Madrid and three more flights to Paris from Mexico City, stating “it will meet the demand for the peak summer season and connectivity for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games”.

The Skyteam carrier will operate a total of 65 weekly flights to Amsterdam, London, Madrid, Paris and Rome. This represents an 18 per cent increase between Mexico and Europe, which surpasses the record set by the airline this past summer.

Aeromexico’s first flight to Europe took place 60 years ago, landing in Madrid with a Douglas DC-8 aircraft. Next year the Spanish capital will see 34 weekly flights, marking a 22 per cent increase compared to summer 2023. This will include 20 weekly flights from Mexico City, as well as seven frequencies per week from both Gaudalajara and Monterrey.

The Mexico City-Paris route, meanwhile, will have a total of ten weekly operations – a growth of 34 per cent on 2023.

Giancarlo Mulinelli, senior VP of Global Sales at Aeromexico commented:

“Last summer, we broke the record for connectivity between Mexico and Europe, and we will do it again next summer, which also coincides with the celebration of the Olympic Games.”
