Valencia’s Expo Hotel to become flagship Novotel property – Business Traveller

Accor will debut its Novotel brand in the Spanish city of Valencia next year.

The group is set to renovate the former Expo Hotel located in the Turia Garden district between the Valencia’s historic centre and the city’s main conference centre, the Palacio de Congresos.

The renovated property is set to open in the second half of 2024, and will offer 370 rooms, a coffee shop and restaurant, a rooftop terrace with swimming pool and bar, a fitness centre and “a large meeting a coworking area”.

Novotel Valencia will also be the first hotel under the brand in Spain to feature the Sundukovy Sisters design concept – one of four designs which were unveiled in 2021 and are gradually being rolled out across selected Novotel properties.

The hotel will be the 13th under the brand in the Iberia region, joining properties in locations including Barcelona, Lisbon, Madrid, Malaga, Porto and Seville.

The hotel will be managed by Hesperia Group, under a franchise agreement with Swiss investment firm Pictet Alternative Advisors.

Commenting on the news Coré Martin, Accor’s VP Development Spain and Portugal, said:

“This agreement with Pictet allows us to continue to expand our presence of Novotel in the major cities of the Iberian Peninsula.

“It is a pleasure to have the confidence of a leading independent investment firm such as Pictet and its team in Spain. This is a magnificent collaboration that we hope to replicate in future projects.”

This summer Accor completed the refurbishment of its Novotel property in Zurich’s district 5, including the renovations of the hotel’s rooms, lobby, bar, restaurant and outdoor space.
